The wood company is facing economic problems due to the low profitability they are experiencing. The general objective of this work is to reduce the amount of monetary losses caused by poor quality management in the production process of the wood company located in the city of Trujillo. The work is diagnostic and propositional in nature. A diagnosis of the company's current situation was carried out using the Ishikawa Diagram, which identified the causes of the problem that were causing low profitability. In addition, the Pareto Diagram was used to measure the criticality of each root cause and prioritize them based on the losses they were generating. Each root cause was monetized, resulting in a loss of S/ 11,890.00 for the company. The indicators were also divided into variables and attributes, allowing the appropriate control chart to be applied for each problem, supported by previously prepared tables that determined the limits. To corroborate the results, the Minitab software was used. On the other hand, a improvement proposal was made using the Quality Function Deployment with the House of Quality (QFD), FMEA matrix, and DMAIC Six Sigma. Improvements were made taking into account customer requirements and expectations, potential failures the company could have, and the Z-level was measured both before and after the improvements. Finally, a projected cash flow was created, analyzing the investment and operating expenses, resulting in a savings of S/ 10,435.00 from the losses the company was incurring. It was determined that the proposal is viable because, for a 10-year projection, it generates a NPV of S/ 10,152.24, an IRR of 39.48%, and a PRI of 5.6 years. This is due to the highly competitive nature of the wood industry. It was determined that the company is not using its resources properly.

The purpose of this research work is to apply quality control tools to reduce costs at the “R&S DISTRIBUIDORES SAC”. A diagnosis of the current situation is conducted, and it is observed that the Warehouse area faces the most critical issues. The causes of the cost overruns affecting its profitability are detailed, such as the lack of product coding, insufficient inventory replenishment planning, inadequate training of personnel in customer service – warehouse, and insufficient space in the warehouse for inventory replenishment. A proposal for improvement is presented using statistical control and quality management tools. The application of the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) with its quality house, the Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) matrix, and the DMAIC Six Sigma methodology improve the statistical behavior of the indicators and reduce the cost overruns that result in losses. The projected benefit is S/ 9,454.40 soles, and the economic evaluation of the proposal yields a Net Present Value (NPV) of S/ 5,192.55 and an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 1.82%.

The objective of this research is to determine the impact of the quality management improvement proposal on the production process of a tannery industry in Trujillo, Peru. An initial diagnosis of the tannery's production process was conducted using the Ishikawa diagram, which identified four root causes for high production costs: lack of supervision in the production line, inadequate staff training, machinery maintenance issues, and raw material supply shortages. To address these problems, tools such as QFD, FMEA, and Six Sigma were employed. The improvement proposal had a significant impact, increasing the tannery's profitability and reducing production costs, preventing production stoppages, and enhancing the quality of the leather production process. The feasibility of the improvement proposal was supported by an economic evaluation, resulting in a NPV of S/ 502,114.64, an IRR of 97.96%, and a payback period of 3.2 years, equivalent to 4 years. It was concluded that the implementation of this improvement proposal in the production process is highly beneficial for the tannery, improving its efficiency, quality, and profitability.

The central purpose of this study is to analyze how the implementation of quality management tools positively impacts internal efficiency and the reduction of operational costs at the hardware company located in Trujillo, within the La Libertad department. Initially, a comprehensive diagnosis of the current situation of the company is carried out in each production area. The choice to focus on the production area is justified by the identification of critical issues, especially the high number of unattended customers, which causes substantial losses for the organization. Additionally, this research work presents an improvement proposal, accompanied by a corresponding economic and financial analysis. The company addresses some of the problems that are negatively impacting its profitability, such as lack of inventory control, insufficient staff training, lack of a maintenance plan, and absence of capacity limit signage. The proposed improvement for the production section is based on a detailed analysis, including approaches and resources to monitor the processes involved in product creation and manufacturing. The goal is to ensure consistent and timely production, minimizing the occurrence of failures and associated costs. Finally, using all the collected and analyzed information, and based on the previous diagnosis, an analysis of the results is carried out to support the conclusions presented with quantitative data. This will validate the proposed improvement in the production area and contribute to an increase in the company's profitability. This results in a monetary benefit as well as a better relationship between the company and the customer.

This research work aims to determine the impact of Quality Management tools on reducing surcharges to increase production at the Trupal S.A. company in the city of Trujillo, Peru. It begins with a diagnosis of the company's production areas using tools from Statistical Quality Control and cost estimation of losses. It concludes with the implementation of an improvement proposal using Quality Management tools and the resulting improvements are determined. Four root causes were identified for the surcharge problems: Lack of staff training, lack of production line planning, improper procurement of raw materials, and lack of machinery maintenance. After quantifying the root causes, the surcharges amount to S/ 205,789.00 soles. By implementing the improvements resulting from the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) with its Quality House, recommendations from Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and the DMAIC Six Sigma methodology, the loss due to surcharges decreased to S/ 123,472.00 soles. Therefore, the application of Quality Management tools to improve production at the Trupal S.A. company generated a benefit of S/ 82,317.00 soles.

The objective of this work was to reduce costs associated with the quality of an avocado production company in the province of Virú in Peru. We began by diagnosing the production area of the company, and the identified causes were the lack of training for harvest personnel, lack of training for machine operators, shortage of personnel due to overproduction, and lack of nutrients during the production period. The indicators for each cause were analyzed using statistical control and quality management tools. Tools such as Quality Function Deployment (QFD) with its Quality House, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and the DMAIC Six Sigma methodology were used to reduce costs. At the end of the research, the results were positive, with a reduction in monetary losses associated with each root cause and an improvement in the statistical behavior of the investigated indicators. The Z-Score increased in each of the 4 indicators. The initial loss was $112,771.04, and the improved loss was $49,401.16, resulting in a benefit of $63,369.88.

The objective of this work was to reduce operating costs in the warehouse area of a Poultry Company using quality management tools. It began with the identified root causes, which were a lack of training in logistics management, insufficient capacity and storage order, lack of system maintenance, and a lack of inventory control indicators. The indicators for each cause were analyzed using statistical control and quality management tools. This proposal involved an investment of S/ 32,290.00. To reduce costs and improve productivity, QFD, FMEA, and DMAIC Six Sigma tools were applied. The results were favorable, and at the end of the improvement process, it was determined that the investment was worthwhile, as a cost reduction was observed. The initial loss was S/ 32,290.00 soles, and the improved loss was S/ 22,990.00 soles, resulting in a benefit of S/ 9,300.00 soles.

The present study reports a novel concept for flexible robot manipulators focusing in low cost construction. The proposed flexible robot arm was designed for pick and place applications of light weight products. The robot arm is actuated by the use of two DC motors and one stepping motor. And a wire connected to the stepping motor is used for controlling the bending position of the flexible link. The vibration of the end tip of the flexible link is reduced by the action of the pulling wire. Preliminary experimental results regarding the flexible link are presented.
